We shall start with some tough questions… What is something you do that truly brings you joy? When was the last time you were able to do this? What is stopping you?
2022 is just a number. Yet so many hear of the new year 2022 and have incredibly strong emotional reactions. They grab on and cling to the new year new me, letting it drag them behind. They are chasing the idea of 2021 being over, 2022 is my chance to lose weight, my chance to exercise, my chance to get a new job, or my chance to read my Bible daily, etc.
The new year can also be viewed as a crutch, well I can wait to work on being on time to places at the start of the new year. Why not start today? Be the best we can be today 🙂 kick out the crutch! Do not wait to set and achieve goals that will bring us happiness now.
A lot of times we can become fixated on the idea of the new year and lose sight of being the best we can be every day. We do not need to wait til the calendar changes numbers. If we focus on the future we lose sight of the now.
Back to my original questions: What is something you do that truly brings you joy? When was the last time you were able to do this? What is stopping you?
✋ Crafting, I love to make diy decor for my house. The last time I did this was easily a year ago. Busy life with children is what’s stopping me. (I also love writing which I am taking time for this morning, hope you all enjoy 😉)
Life gets busy and with kiddos who rely on us, we tend to put them first. Children bring us so much joy and do require a lot of time an energy. However, there is no problem with taking some time to do activities we enjoy as well. The happier we are the more refreshed we are and the better our patience will be for our kiddos.
“Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.”
In conclusion, it is easy to get caught up in the worldly pattern, new year new me 2022! Do not fall into this hype; we should renew our mind today and everyday! Live our best life in the here and now. The happier we are the better our attitude will be 😊
